[New] Stamp - Striped Creamware Bowl

“Creamware” refers to a type of fine porcelain created around 1750 by potters in Staffordshire, England, characterized by a pale body coated with a lead glaze to produce a creamy white finish.

Replacing the pottery that had come before it, creamware was more delicate, thinner, and whiter, with a glass-like luster. Because it was also ideal for household use, its popularity reportedly lasted until the 1840s.

Since it resembles a café au lait bowl, it would make a great complementary piece alongside recipe books or recipe cards, as well as for journaling, tea party invitations, or casual party invitations.

「クリームウェア」とは、1750年頃、イングランドのスタッフォードシャーの陶工たちによって生み出された、淡い色の素地に鉛釉を施したクリーム色の精製陶器です。

それまでの陶器に取って代わったクリームウェアは、より繊細で薄く、白く、ガラスのような輝きを放ち、また家庭用品としても理想的であったため、1840年代まで人気が続いたそうです。

カフェオレ・ボウルのようにも見えるので、レシピ帳やレシピカードの脇役に、またジャーナリングやお茶のお誘いカード、カジュアルなパーティーの招待状などにも活躍しそうです。
